We now have a yearly scholarship in Sue’s name in honor of her commitment to working with youth and adults with disabilities. She had been an Aktion Club advisor for 3 years before her passing in February of 2019, and was a substitute teacher in the Stanwood HS Transition Center. So in honor of her legacy, our club awards a scholarship to an applicant seeking a degree in special education. She truly gave the majority of her time helping others and we don’t want her legacy to go unnoticed. The 2019 Sue Thees Memorial Scholarship recipient was Caitlyn Hill.
